Went to lab early today coz i thought i am gonna start an experiment which is gonna take the whole day.. and guess what... first i remembered that my technician left the key to pc2 lab at her house, and the ppl from gillian's lab is still closed (where the spare key is located) so i have no way of gettign into the lab... and worse of all the stupid stupid kitchen ppl haven't autoclaved my vessel (with the media in it) !!! how stupid can they be!!!! and as the result the random microbes from atmosphere had lovely time swimming in my hard to make nutrient soup for the ENTIRE WEEKEND so i had to chuck the whole 1.5L out!!! Geez~~ it took us 3 hours to make the media and for each we can only make 8 batch of 1.5 L~~~ what a waste!!!

Other then that....nothign else i guess... blah~~~~ supervisor want me to look up alternative recipe that isn't so difficult and annoying to make.. but personally i think looking up another recipe is more difficult and annoying :P

ok ok... before you get the wrong idea.. i am not acutlaly in a bad mood... really~~ honest~~~ just slight.. drawback... *nod nod* oh yea~~ shud start writing my report soon :S (mental note... think happy thoughts~~~ happy~~~~~ =D)

apparently i got a nother nickname.. today one of the phD student asked me if it was ok if she called me lulu.. and i told her yea~ ppl call me that.. and seeing how she isn't the first one to give me that nickname she decided to look for another nickname for me.. and this time it's lala... LOL so in the theme of me being weird... i'll end this weird entry by repeating my nickname numerous of times

Starting to write my project reports.. just the background anywya.. it looks so..er.. un-pro :P in fact.. i think i just got sick of reading irrevelent articles that i just start blahing on without referencing... hehehe OOPS~~~ technically it's not marked anyway.. tho i really shud ask for a sample report form reception sometime.

Running few experiments.. not relaly project related.. just so that when i can make my synthetic sewage i know exactly what to do (will take ages to make up the medium so dotn' want to screw it up) Today.. trying to get a continouse system going.. i.e. trying to determine the best feed rate so the system stays in a steady state (yea.. all the chemmat terms) which is ok... but like... every hour or 2 i have to take samples.. and have to take absorbance readings which i hate.. mind you it's simple as~ just that we dotn' have a spectrometer in our lab so i have to go to the next lab to use it.. and there's a grumpy lady in there who always gives me a really really freaky look. =S me dotn' like freaky lady.. hopefully my supervisor will come up with a new way to er... monitor bacterial growth for my next experiment (doubt it'll work with absorbance readings anwyay.

what else.... hm... bored? tired? sleepy? this morning i almost didnt' want to get off the bus just coz sleeping was more tempting... and since i was there early... i got a cup of coffee from the new cafe place (one next to all the ATMs) their coffee is ok.. but the lemony cup cake thign i got was...er....not nice... was way~~ too sweet.

blah~~ technician sick today.. so it's just me.. which is okay i guess... not that much things to do.. just fingers crossed that the level probe works so when i come in tmr i wont' find bactera exploded all over the place coz the feed-out pump isn't working..

Today's of course Emily's birthday, so we had a dinner celebration at Golden horse.. and here are some nice yummy food.. this one is spicy duck feet. heheheh yummy~~

AH~~~~ work is BORING~~~ *yawn* nothing to do.. well.. actually did quite a bit today.. made 6 bottles of broth, 8 different trace metal solution (which looks nice a pretty and colourful) and autoclaved the vessel for tmr.. otherwise.. nothing much to do really~~~ and it's only almost 1:30... what to do in the next..er... 4 hours.... @____@

Summerschool has started.. saw sooo many ppl i know today. Sherry, Angel, Angel's bf (at diff places) Steven, Pam .... and uni is getting more crowded too. Luckily there's still space at our usual sofa place in ic 0 to eat lunch.. heheheh

Oh yea.. the bus driver this monring drives like mad @__@ got to uni at about 8:20... i mean... it's suppose to be here at 8:45... yup.. that's how fast he was driving... was trying to sleep.. but got a bit car sick in the end.. i mean.. he was just... change lanes, change lanes, change lanes constantly just to get ahead ^^: So i got to uni.. and went to the bus agency to get ticket... and that indian lady was 10 mins late!!!! so the 4 or 5 of us were just standing there.. watiting for her to open -____- got annoyed so bought 20 runs instead of 10... now i have no money in my bank *sniff*

Hm.... anyway... shud go and pretend to be doing somethign constructive... blog later ^^ bye~~ *waves*
