Never in my dreams...

Never in my dreams would I ever comprehend how having a back up plan is a very bad idea..... well, i guess there's a first for everything.... So i guess I've learnt a thing or two about how sometimes taking a risk can be worth while... and in the meanwhile i just have to be content with my back up plan... it isn't all that bad afterall~~~

Talk about Service

Yesterday morning, I caught an express bus to city, and the bus driver seems really cranky and mean, so she didn't drive up to Symond street. I later found out that it was the earlier bus than what I intended to catch, which meant that she was running late (no wonder she was cranky). Anyway, so on my walk up to uni, I decided that I need a drink, so I walked in the first suprette i see, which happen to be a Korean shop. I walked in, it's actually a lot larger than I anticipated, but the variety of drink was a bit lacking. I ended up getting an Apple Tea. So when I at the cashier, the shop keeper shaked my hand, and keep saying "it's so nice to see you" blah blah blah, and he even gave me a free bubble gum and when I left he was like "hope you see you again" I mean.. wow~~ how often do you get services like that... which could only mean one thing, his shop must get really few customers. Well granted it is one on of the side streets off Quay, but does it really take that much effort to 'keep' the customers coming?

And the apple tea?? well.. it's safe to say it's the worse apple tea i've ever tasted, it was.... really blend. But then I guess you can't really blame the superrete for selling yucky drinks :P

Foodsci and MARS?!?!?!?!

yup~~ and i am not referring to the chocolate bar either.

Ok... so here's the story, one of the topic in Food Preservation paper is "emerging technology" where the concept of ohmic heating, microwave, high pressure processing etc were covered. Relevant enough right? until when I looked at 2003 exam question on this topic.

"By 2025 the American Space Program plans to have ppl travel to Mars. What foods and processing methods (including possibly new foods and new technology) do you think the space ship should carry and what should be grown on the ship? Assume there will be 50 passsengers and crew and the voyage coudl take up to 6 months in each direction and it is planned to explore Mars for 6 months before returning."

Needless to say, i burst out laughing upon reading this question. LOL i have a feeling the old man got so bored of reading boring exam script that he decided to set a totally..er... unconventional type quesiton. Be an excellent question to just.. blah about i must say, with very minimal foodsci knowledge too. Anyway, at the end of the day, i am just thankful that there are other options available to answer.

Excuse for procrastinating

Thign about studyign for nutrition is.... i learn lots of 'convenient excuses' to procrastinate. For example, when i woke up this morning, instead of going striagh to study, i was like.. hm.. brain can't only oxidise glucose, must get some carbohydrate. So i went to the kitchen and find food. Instead of taking 1 minutes to toast the low carb bread parents made, i was like "must get carbo, must get carbo" so instead, i took me 5 minutes to cook instant noodles. Yup..unhealthy but it's got carbo for my brain. While i was doing that i was also loading myself up with V. And while waiing for the microwave to heat up my noodles, instead of looking at my notes I thought "why study now, no glucose for the brain, no efficiency." Yup.. that's me... always have excuse for.. procrastination. Not to mention due to a wonderful thign call "post prandial dip" i always take at least 1 hour lunch/ dinner breaks hahaha....

BTW.. was in the coolest exam room today... seriously.. 12 people in that room~~ was brilliant, was quiet and nice~~~` hehehe ^____^ so glad I was in the littl erom instead of the big one like the rest of the class.
