Yet another game finished!!
It is almost freaky to think about it, how I already finished yet another game. This time it took me er.. 63 hours at least, within 3 weeks.. freaky right?
So i guess this is my semi review of the game so if you get bored reading about games, stop reading. I'll try to be as spoiler free as possible ppl who actually considering of playing, i wont' ruin the game for you, tho the game is hardly accessible here since it's not available on PAL systems.
I loved the first valkyrie's profile 1, so of course i really looked forward to this one. VPs got a really unique battling system that if you customise it right, the flow of the battle is a lot better than many final fantasy series. Instead the usual over usage of x x x x x, this one actually assign each of the 4 buttons to each character's attack, and to play it well, the game encourages you to explore the best combination of attacks in the right timing, and will be awarded with rounds of soul charges which i guess are like the overdrives in ff series. In terms of plot, i guess this is the game with the most plot twists i have seen, with of course a little splash of romance. The story is good, i would say almost as good as the KH2 one (yes i have very high praise for KH2) the story is definately got it's complexity, the way how each valkyrie take their terms to be the battle maiden, the concept of time travelling. But i guess the best bit about the story is how although it orignally started out as a prequel, it actually ends up being a prequel AND a sequel.. weird right? BUt i just love that twist. But all games have well.. things we dont' really like about it, and for me, the ending was a bit disappointing, it was short, and leaves a lot of unanswered questions hanging and left to the players imagination. Tho the ending better than KH1's ending... (not the KH1 has an ending ^^:)
But overall, it is definatley one of the better games i have played, apart from the ending. It is definately worthwhile, excellent plot, excellent graphic, one of the best battle systems. but for anyone who wishes to play it... i do highly recommend playing vp: lenneth first which i think is coming out on psp soon. ^^
