YES!! you made a difference in my life
Victim:Members of the FAT CLUB!!!
First of all, apologies that I didn't sent an email to all the members of the fat club as part of the 'privacy act', but since this is a group one, i thought i'll be lazy. lol.. right.... anyway
The fat club started in form 1 or 2 (somewhere there) when Gilianne decided that it'll be a great idea to start up a club, just for our little circle of friends. The Fat Club member include, Gilainne, Honour, Rainbow, Anita, Anne, Rachel and me (if i've forgotten about anyone, that person deserve to kill me for it). So the 7 of us started this... weird club with a catchy slogan "bloated and fat" (which according to Len, it started when we had to finish a huge icecream cake which was melting, so to "cheer" everyone into eating more, Len started shouting "bloated and fat" repeatedly, and that became our slogan) and our club activity include a movie gathering every holiday.
To be completely honest, the club wasn't well organised at all, in fact, i don't remember we did anything in the name of the "fat club". But what was important was the time we spent togather. All 7 of us, despite of race, religion, we always had great times togather, from sharing the latest gossips to exchanging lunch (though i think Anita stopped the lunch exchanging after that video Mrs Jake shown us on germs,) we had lots of fun while participating in the joseph choir, and... not so much fun participating in that contest which Lucy stupidly thought it was a concert. Fun! was exactly what the fat club was, and a whole lot more. Being a member of the fat club, I've had possibly the greatest time of my life so far, and most importantly, I've gain valuable friendships that i wouldn't trade for anything.
The "Fat Club" unfortunately lost it's edge when all 7 of us set off to college, even though we were all in the same school, not being in the same class , or house for that matter just isn't the same. Althought Gilianne has attempted to recreate the "fat club", giving it a new name "the double chin club" (which i was given the title of treasurer, who failed to collect any funds at all), but due to several "funding" reasons, it was never officially recreated.
However, despite all the failiures in resetting the "fat club" or the later "double chin club" the legacy of the "fat club", the everlasting friendship which many of us are still blessed with. (just check out my tagboard!!! ) and we all owe it to the 'fat club'

Had another fight with Emily today.... and i come up with the conclusiong that "I AM A SPOILT CHILD WHO TAKES TOO MANY THINGS FOR GRANTED" yes.. i am.. really. i mean it. Sometimes i think about how much my mum does for me, and how i just take it for granted. Like say for example, on a rainy day, my mum almost always picks me up afterschool, even if it means cutting her meeting with her friends short, and what do in return??? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!! sure, i love me mum so much, sometimes i think i dependent too much on her. relying she to be there when i am upset, like a 3 year old child or something....... oh well~~~ i'll just have learn how to grow up.
Anyway, here are some facts i learnt at a HSM seminar on the devolopemnt of the brain relation to music learning
fact! FaCt!! FACT!!!
Apparently, the emotions we sense when we hear music is the result of increase in adrenaline, a natural reaction from the time of our ancestors to analyse any sounds to detect the presence of any predator. Therefore, when we hear music, our body is constantly analysing it, making sure we are warned if any of those sounds is related to danger.
Apparently, listening to music from early childhood stimulates part of the brain, making the child smarter. Also, frequently sight-reading progressively harder music also makes ur brain develop faster.

YES!! you made a difference in my life
Victim: Honour Mak
I choose Honour to be my first victim because she was the first one that made me realize the value of friendship. I met Honour at BBPS, standard 4, she was a new student in our class who came at around August 1996 (and i arrived in NZ the nov the year before). At that time I only had one friend, Diana, so i thought, why not make it 2, besides i was kind of happy that i could help some "new student" out (but it turned out that her english was way better than my crappy one, and she probabily helped me out more than i helped her). Anyway we became really good friends. Friends in primary meant... "playing buddies" and that's what she was to me at the beginning, someone to run around in the playground, someone to make paper dolls with.
BBPS at the time unlike other primary schools, it has experienced very little Asian invasion, the only "mandarin speaking" person in our year level apart from me was Hsuan... and he was a weird dude at the time ....very weird, and other asians were all from Hong Kong (i won't mention names) It happened towards the end of the year. When Honour and I started hanging out with the other "Hong Kong" ppl, and they almost always communicate in their own language. At the time, this was really really frustration to me, i mean... i only just managed to comprehend about 60% of English, and there they goes babbling in an unknown langauge. I rememeber running off several times crying because of it, and Honour always followed. She could've stayed, she understood their language perfectly well, but she didn't, she choose to stay by my side. That's when i realize, what true friends are like, and that's when I realized she was truely my best friend.
Over the years, our friendship faded due to distance, but i've seen Honour grew into a confident, hyperactive, optimistic girl who always stood in the side of justice and willing to help out a friend. She may not be the same girl that used to run around with me in the play ground, but i know, whenever her friends is in need, she will stood beside them, just like how she stood beside me that day.
HONOUR!! YES, YOU MADE A DIFFERENCE IN MY LIFE! Honour, thank you for being such a great friend to me, your friendship meant so much to me, and i hope that although we live great distance apart, we'll still keep in touch.
NB: For those ppl who ever wondered why i never spoke mandarin at school, it's because of that incident. After that i vowed not to make anyway suffered the frustration as i did that day. Though i must admit, through the years, i had become a habit that i spoke english to all of my friends despite of presense of any non-mandarin speakers"

I am going to start a new section in this blog called "YES!! you made a difference to my life" The idea is so that I can let my friends know how much they meant to me. A lot of my uni friends tell me that you dont' make friends in uni like you do in college. So i want to treasure all of my friends now~~ and leaving their mark on my blog. ^^
