First day at uni... was kinda of stressful, i dont' know... dont' like today.. ok.. mostly becoz dad yelled at me at dinner today -____- ok... at dinner, i told mum today how most ppl taking my scigen201 paper are biotech ppl, and how apparenlty they only accept 25 ppl per year (that is hard out!!!) and then dad start going on about that's y ppl graduate with biotech degree will get better jobs and blah blah blah blah~~ and by the end he was pretty much saying how 'stupid' i was to choose food science when i am capable of choosing many 'better' options, and how one day i am gonna graduate with very little salary and blah blah blah~~ got slightly depressed after that.... mum told me her friend's daughter who got a master degree in food sci is only getting like $30000 anuualy whereas her other friend's son who got a honours in biomed is applying for a job that's lke $80000... but then that 2nd person is freaky ( i remember he got like.. 1st in 4 subjects out of 5 in his 6th form year or something) so he is an exception i am sure~~ honestly~~` i doubt ppl can get that high of a starting salary. and BESIDES, the measure of a career is not by how much u can earn rite??? isn't doign somethign u like more impt than anythign else???? oh yea~~ and dad always was sayign how i think i'll be able to get all these cool jobs to do with food, but in reality i prob wont' be able to get those jobs... -_____- i am annoyed!! i am really annoyed!! y is he telling me all these now?!?!?!?! i've made my choice! and he was there when i made my choice!! ARGH~~~ *lucy screams out of frustration*

anyway...... mite as well as run through my lect today.... chemmat... hm... looks hard, apparently lots of calculations... ALSO apparently for engine ppl, they had to do engsci111 BEFORE doing this paper, and since i'll be doing chemmat and engsci 111 at the same time... i have a feeling it's gonna be... 'fun'.... at least i know mnay ppl doign this paper, so i coudl always get help.. hehehe.

bio204 sounds interesting.... honestly.. i didnt' like the sound of microbiology, but it looks interesting.... the course coordinator is very hysterical... she laughs at herself every 5 secs.. lol... everyone looked at her funny, but u know~~ it's the best lecture i had today so hey~ maybe laughing at oneself is... er... not a bad strategy in teaching??

scigen was SO BORING it's not funny -____- this scottish guy started telling us how 'scientist' are precieve as obscure/dirty/weird ppl in society that is 'frightened' by ppl (BTW!!! what's with dirty?!?!?!?! ) and then he goes on about how differnt ppl perceive thigns differently for the whoel freaking 40 mins!!!! omg~~~ ok.. if the boredom continues, i rather do 7 papers next year and 6 this year jsut so that i'll get more intesreting papers!!!.

... still got a lot of 'catching' up to do.... so many ppl i haven' tseen today.. oh well~~ hehehe there's a whole sem to do catching up so it shud be ok ^______^ anyway... goign to burn some cd now.. hope everyone had better 1st day at uni than me...

ah~~ i am so touched, someone actually misses my blog when i was away... *feel so loved* hehehe (ok.. ignore me, just in a good mood today) ^____^

YOU KNOW WHAT DAD SAID TODAY?!?!?! he said if i get all A's this semester, he'll take us to Invercargill during July holidays and hopefully we'll see auroras ^_____^ and of course i got really excited (for ppl who dont' know, it's my dream to go to the poles and see the auroras, i mean ok, the ones in Invercargill would prob suck big time, and it's better than nothing rite? ) and then dad start giving a lecture on how i shoudl set a more long distant dream, instead of ones that i can accomplsih when i am in my early 20's.... HEY!! AT LEAST I HAVE A DREAM!! and of course i want to get a nice job, and live happily ever after and blah blah blah, but that's just.. normal... heheh eok.. lost my train of thoughts

speaking of which.. all A's this sem?? i think i have to try really hard.... i am not good at problem solving, and 2 engine papers??? -_____- yea... seem like a very difficult thing to get... =S oh well~~ one can always try rite?

Ok.. time to update my trip to wellington ^_______^ u know~~ it was acutlaly a really ncie trip, haven't had such nice family trip for ages.. I mean.. last time we traveled was.... end of 2003 when parents drove me all the way to palmerston north to check out massey university, but that doesnt' really count as a family trip coz emily wasn't there, and the trip was plain educational. Anyway.. i really enjoyed it, and i think parents did too, so much that they alreayd planned to have another trip in april holidays AND one in july holidays -______-

Day 1
Nothing happene much... just a lot of driving, we left at around 2:30pm (have to wait for emily to get home form work) and we just drove ALL the way down south, we had dinner at Taupo, and eventually arrive at Bull's town, by then it was like.. 9:30, and there was like only 2 really crappy looking motels, seeing how goign to wellington will take another 2 hrs and 30mins.. we decided to stay there even tho it looks really crap. Oh well~~

Day 2
Woke up early, like at 7 or something so that we can arrive at Wellington nice and early for our big day ahead. Arrive at Te Papa just before 10am when it opens ^___^

We went to both of the 'show' thing.. argh.. can' tremember what it's call, one is combined maori myths with geology which was not bad. i mean looking from entertainment values it's no where close as the ones in disneyland or universal studio, but in terms of informing ppl of the maori culture and the nz landscape, i think it's done quite well. The 2nd one is like.. going to the future thing.. i really liked the green screen thign, like we were standing infront of the green screen, and our image appears on the computer screen, and it's interactive and stuff. heheheh gosh that was fun. ^____^

Second stop was to Parliment house! we went just in time for a tour inside the Parliament house too, Ok.. i am really not into politics.. but it was interesting, the buildign looks nice~~ one thing i did notice is how much earthquakes affects buildign in Wellington, like, the major consideration for their major buildings is to be able to withstand earthquake, somethign we dont' really think about as Aucklanders unlike Wellintonians.

After that we took the Cable car (which is really pathetic.. i mean.. ithought it was going around the whole city, but it was just like.. 4 stops.. in 1 straight line.. lol) to the Botanic Garden, ok... honestly.. i am not into plants.. and i htink the ones in Auckland looks pretty much the same. :P

And that concludes our stay at Wellington, we drove all the way to... some town close to Levin and stayed the night at a very nice motel called Sand Castle, it's really nice, and it was only like 2 mins walk to the beach. ^^

Drove all the way to Rotorua and stayed the night there, and we stopped at very random places on the way.

went all the way back to Auckland, and stoped, again at random places, mostly places with nice scenery.

I AM BACK~~ hehehe, gosh it's been an eventful week, anyway... i'll do my Waiheke trip update today and Wellington one tomorrow ;)

ok.. waiheke trip.. that was on Sunday 20th Feb

NOTE: this is goign to be a photoblog, so... lucy apologises for ppl with slow internet connections.

We all met up at half moon bay at around 9:45am, and around 10am. off we went to Waiheke on the ferry ^____^ oh~~ and just before i get into anything, the ppl of this trip are Gilainne and Ronald (our driver), Tina and Henry, Stefan, me, Joel and Mei who came later at night.

Can't remember much about the ferry ride to Waiheke, but i remember sitting in those very comfortable chairs planning the places we are goign to visit and stuff.

After that we made a trip and visit our motel ^^ we booked for 3 rooms (a girls room, a guy's room, and joe and mei wanted their own room) but when we went there, we found that insteand of having 3 beds in a room, there's like... 6 -___- so we cancelled one room bringing our accomodation fee to a nice $28 ^^

And so the search for the lavender farm continues.. we went passed one, but we thought it was the wrong one so we keep driving forward until eventaully the map ends.. hahah can u believe it.. the map just kind... 'finished' in the middle of nowhere, so our navigator Stefan have to use many maps and the one we printed from the lavender farm shop to roughly guess where it is.. eventually we made a U -turn and decided just to go to the one we passed by earlier.. and guess what? it is the one we were looking for.. LOL To get to the farm we either can drive there with 4WD or take a 5 mins bushwalk. since we dotn' have a 4WD, we took that scary tiny path bushwalk.. -___- took us about10~ 15 mins.. and when we get there.. this is what we saw

Went and visit a vineyard after that, and bought a nice bottle of hand cream which emily told me later that i can buy the same stuff at farmers -___- oh well~

Hm.. we waited at the beach till the time comes and we picked up joe and mei from the ferry terminal and went and had dinner at this cafe (dont know the name) after that we pretty much just stayed at the motel for the rest of the night.

Hehehe IN the morning.. len woke up early and cooked us really nice breakfast.. ron did the bacon.. and i can't believe how much bacon guys can eat -_____- ANYWAY~~ we went to the beach we had lunch the previous day before we left.

STATS IS FINISHED!!! YAY~~~ the exam was... ok i guess, not TOO hard, i did get very annoyed at all the techinical notes and executive sumamries tho~~ 12 pages of writing!!! @___@ who woudl expect a stat exam to be full of writiing.. in fact 50% of the exam is on writing... argh~~

BTW~~~ super genius geeky danny finished the exam in 1hr and 40 mins!!!!!! i still had 3 pages of writing to do!! and he alreayd checked his exam TWICE!!! -____- he brings a whole new dimension to the word 'geek' lol ~~ oh~~ he gave us a ride home today in his 'beloved new car' dot'n know what's up with guys and cars.. it's just.. a normal car~

Ooo yesterday we went to len's to give my 'sis' *cough* "selina" *cough* a makeover. hehehe she looks very pretty at the end ^___^ especially on camera.. hehehe can't wait to get my hands on those fotos... (since my camera battery died, and..er... i dont' htink my camera works that well under dimmed light, it all came out funny)

Work today, Melissa who's the head of listeria came and examine my work today.. and gave me some tips.. which is cool, but u know~~ after all that streaking, i am still quite bad at it.. argh`~ need mroe practice.

ARrrr procrasinated too much. AT LEAST i have (more like we have) FINALLY gave the present to Moo~~ ^___^ sorry it was very belated. hope he likes the present anyway. A lot of thoughts were put into that present.

had lots of things to say.. but everytime i sit infront of the compute.r. i have either waaaay to many chatroom going on at once to update.. or i am too tired.... work is... tiring.. really tiring.. i mean the long hours really gets to me sometimes.. did like 9 1/4 hours today, OMG~~~ ihad to battle with 10 huge 5 kg icecream bags.. why the heck did they send in 5 kg bags when all we need is 25g from each??? @___@ so i had to dig a hole in the middle, get my sample, and chuck the rest.. what a waste... and chucking wasn't fun either.. those are some heavy stuff... ><

Thur night, went to tina's house with len, got rides form len's parents which was nice ^____^ (lost the battle to emily asking for the car) hm.. we had really good time catchign up, and looking at tina's new clohtes.. lol... my goodness.. she had fun shopping at hk ;) and her mango jeely thing was amazing.. and guess what.. no recipes.. she just came up with it herself ;) talented.

Fri... had 3 horu work since.. ppl went to my workmat'es funeral.. and i decided not to go. a) mum was doing a bbq, inviting 22 ppl, i know she'll be stressed and woudl appreciated if i coudl go home early and help rather than late (if i had gone, i woudl've gone home waaaay later, ) b) coz i was kinda scared.. i don't know.. never been to a funeral before.. i wished that at least someone i know well is by my side.. so yea... Feel a bit guilty not goign tho.. i think it would've been better if i went eh~~ paying my respect and stuff.... *shrug* when i asked mum about my decision.. she just told me never think about ur decisions u've made.. it's pointless... oh well~~ that doesn't tell me much at all... anyway.. came home early.. David and Hsuan came.. randomly (have no idea y) and they jsut talked.. and left... lol.. random.. they were lucky too, coz i would be at work if it wasn't for the funeral thign.

btw~~ i am thinking of settign up a stall to sell anime wall scrollers for market day.. anyone who can and willing to help me plz contact me... i am willing to share the profits evenly~~ and it'll only for a few weeks.

Sorry for lack of updates... work 3 days in a row is soooo hard. =( honestly argh~~ tired.. exhausted.. and last night i had assingment to do.. OMG~~ it was like.. 2 questions, and yet it took me ALL NIGHT!!! @___@ finished at around 2:30am, by then Emily and Shawn already gave up and decide to continue in the morning. Danny stayed with me till 2:30 tho.. to check answers which is nice... u know~~ it's realy nice to have assingment buddies, i think from now on, i am gonna look for ppl to do assingment with me ...

BTW~~ big sorry to Tina, Mike, Hsuan, and David who i coudlnt' talked to last night on msn coz i was on assignment.

Hm... Josephatt ask to meet up today coz he want me to teach him some basic physics... and when i got there... HE HAD A TEST TODAY!!! on another topic @___@ my goodness, how coudl he organise his time like that?!?!?! Yeau(my nice workmate) asked me to help her with the assingment, and i said i coudln't, and instead lend her a floppy with my assignment on it. Emily was in ic doing her assignment and i coudln't help her so send her a file of my assignment through email.. All these ppl i coudl've helped, instead! i was stuck there with him for 'moral support' -____- what the?!?!?! anyway.. .so that was useless.. left after 45mins.... he's coming over to my house tomorrow... btw~~ why the hell did he ask me anyway? i suck BIG time at physics.. Grrrr have to wake up early tomorrow.

On a good note, dad was so sweet today, he came to city just to pick us up after lec coz it's the chinese new year eve, and he wants his girls to come home early. ^___^

Hm... on a not so good note... i am completely booked out for the next 3 weeks!!! @____@ can u believe it?!?!?! ok... last lecture ends today, have exam next wed.. so from now on till then, i can't really go out. Next wed is Exam... working on thur, fri, sat after that. Sunday is my only free day, and On mon~Fri we r going on a family trip down to Wellington ^___^ coz i said i wanted to go to Tepapa, and dad just go.. ok~ ^___^ i am thinking Tina who's tryign very hard to organise a sleepover won't be too happy about that... i am thinking Starlight symphony next sat, want to go, but don't know how? work finish at 6-ish, i can't drive there coz there's no place to park, and if i came back to bbeach and then go again it'll be too late.... argh~~~ stupid work.

Had very very nice dinner today ^^ parents spent 2 days preparing for our Chinese New Year Eve meal. it included a snapper, shark fin soup, dumplings, tunip(not sure if i spell this right) rice cake, large meatballs (chinese styel) etc etc... argh~~ so full now~ but that was nice ^___^ Parents are so talented, they can make good Western cruisine for xmas as well as good Chinese food for New year ^______^ arne't i lucky?

A girl at work commited suicide last night. Even though i didn't know her very well, i was still.. very shocked... Why woudl anyone do that? No matter how miserably life gets, it's never enough to end ur own life? What about the ppl around you? family, friends, etc etc. I mean... I have only seen for 3 times, and the last time, i was in the filling room with her. Since i am new, i keep asking her questions and she was nice.. keep helping out and stuff. i remember the last time i saw her, it was before we went home, at the girls locker room. I thanked her for helping me out and stuff and asked her when's the next tiem she work, and well it just so happen that her timetable is completely different to mine... so i told her that maybe it's the last time i'll see her around for a while then... AND U KNOW WHAT!! that WAS the last time i saw her.. ever... We got told this at around 4pm today.. and after that~~ everyone was just... in shocked... talking about when was the last time we saw her and stuff... apparently one of the girl worked with her on Thur, and she coudl tell that she was kinda depressed, and when she asked if she was alrite.. she said yea.... DONT' HIDE UR FEELINGS!!! not healthy~

ppl~~ if any of u EVER think about suicide... plz~~ just talk to someone~~~ dont/ hide it.... YOUR life does matter, even to random ppl (like me to her,) it matters!!! hold on to it!!! I am always here for u ppl ok~~

had about 6 hours sleep last night.. never ever going to do that again -___- had to turn on my stereo at a very loud loud volume to keep me awake while driving -__- Anyway.. work today.. had to streak for the WHOLE DAY LONG~~ uh huh~ it was ok i guess.. i mean i know what needs to be done now etc, the only prob is i need to work on my time management, i mean.. my supervisor wasn't too happy with me today coz one of the samples was streaked an hour late... but then... i was... starking all the times.. and honestly by the end~ heaps and heaps of them were streaked late... argh~~ i am too slow. Tomorrow i'll be in the nice cool filling room (where samples are sorted), it's great coz thre's very very nice air-con, bad coz... i have no idea how it works... so far iv'e been streaking so.. guess there's a lot of learnign tomororw ^^:

Tried very hard to break the ice today during lec ( i really need them for assingments... dotn' want to be by myself) ... by means of passing notes. My goodness.. shawn was soooo 'cold' at first, ok appraently he had a headache, he got better.. maybe i annoy him to a point that he decided that he has to start replying??? *shrug* 2 pages and half of note passed within 2 hrs.. not too bad....... i am really interested to find out what happens to our 'assingment buddies' group after end of summer.... time will tell eh~~

Meanwhile~~ Naruto 120 is out... Mike and Jeff were right... shareaza is incredibly fast.. in fact.. i can prob watch it tonite... now woudlnt' that be nice ^_____^ Other than that... thigns been.. uneventful..... hm... outta thigns to write...

i can't believe someone who's got 400+ in bursary, complains about getting scaled down 2 marks for calc coz he got 96 calls me a geek.. HELLO~~~
